Here are some tips to help you reach your goal:
Support Yourself
Make the first donation to encourage others to join you.
Ask Everyone you Know
Ask your husband/wife to support you. Your friends, family and your neighbors. You can even ask your boss and co-workers. Encourage your boss to start an A-Team!
Promote Online Giving
You can ask others to pledge you online at a later time if they are busy or not carrying cash. Just ask them to visit the site.
Word of Mouth
Ask your supporters to ask their friends and family and watch your pledges grow!
Gift Matching Program
Many companies have "gift matching programs" where your employer matches the amount of money you raised. Ask your employer if they do this.
Spare Change
Start a spare change jar at home and start collecting. Better yet, keep it on your desk at work and ask your co-workers to contribute.
Auction
Hold an office auction -auction off a prime parking space for a week, homemade lunch for a week or coffee delivered to their desk. Just be creative!
Have a Party
Everyone loves a party. Invite everyone to come over for a potluck or cocktails and ask them to bring a donation as a party favor.
Special Occasion
You can ask others to make a donation to you for your birthday, Christmas or other special occasion.
E-Signature
Email is very popular these days, so create an e-signature. This will ensure that every person that receives your emails will know your cause and be given the option of pledging you. Copy and paste the following:
On Sunday, May 16th, I will be walking in the Alzheimer Society's annual Walk For Memories. Please help me support the fundraiser by pledging me. It's easy, just go to: www.nswalkformemories.ca and click on Pledge a Participant. Thank you in advance for your support.
Stay Motivated!
Don't give up! Everyone can be busy at times. Make sure you ask, ask and ask again. And remember to be creative in your fundraising ideas. Creative fundraising is a good way to raise lots of money, while also having a good time.
